Michelle Branch is Back!

After six years away from the pop world, Michelle Branch has returned with a new album called ‘West Coast Time.’ Though it won’t be released until later this year, Branch has already out her new single ‘Loud Music’ on iTunes. Many feel that Branch has returned to her calling with this song (and album), and that she will surely make a splash on her way back into pop. What do you think?

 

Christina Aguilera Joins ‘The Voice’ Judges

“The Voice” is the newest American television talent show. The competition focuses on genuine vocal ability, so who better to join the panel of judges than Christina Aguilera? The incredible vocalist shared her thoughts on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, saying:

“The concept was just undeniable, it takes music back to a time when there weren’t music videos, or access to the internet, and it was about the real voice.”

The singer added that she was excited to share her personal experiences with the show’s contestants. “I never make mistakes, I never forget lyrics, I never trip up on stage, I never do anything wrong,” she joked.

The music industry has a new addition…. While Rebecca Black’s song “Friday” was met with confusion, dismay, ridicule, enthusiasm and obsession, the music video already has 36 million views on YouTube and has gone completely viral. Rolling Stone writes that the vocals have “a peculiar tonality that inadvertently highlights the absurdity of boilerplate pop lyrics,” and adds that the sound is “unlike anything else in pop music.”
The question is, is that a good thing?
